B.net, Home Of The Lame

Bnet - home of the lame pt. 1 4-06-01
If you have played on Bnet for at least a month, you
will know that Bnet is home to some of the biggest
idiots out there. There are people that log on just
for the sole purpose of making your experience on Bnet
as least enjoyable as it can be. I have played plenty
of online games before, and never have I seen so many
idiots online. There are different types of idiots on
Bnet, so lets take a look some of them, shall we?
The Hackers-
These people are mostly newbies, and they can only
win by cheating. In case you didn't know what a hack
was, a hack is a program that lets you see the whole
map. Every patch Blizzard has put out, they got rid of
the hacks for a short amount of time, but soon enough
they return again. There is nothing you can do against
hackers, and even if the NoHack worked, (there is some
speculation on whether it works or not. Personally it
doesn't work for me) it wouldn't make a difference. So
what if you know someone is hacking? You can tell if
they are hacking most of the time in a game without
using any program. No matter what, the person can just
deny it. Once the 1.08 patch comes out I suggest that
you play as much SC/BW as you can, before the new
hacks get out into the public.
Ladder abusers-
This doesn't really affect people directly, but it is
something that annoys the hell out of me. Whenever I
check the ladder rankings, I always see people with
records like 250-0-0, and such. It doesn't take a
genius to figure out that these people were cheating
in the ladder. Anyone that actually plays the ladder
fairly won't get very far thanks to these idiots. And
what really pisses me off is that Blizzard actually
rewards these people for their "skills". Hell, I'd
love to have a big trophy of a marine sittin' on my
desk, but instead they are going to the morons who
ruin the ladder for everyone. If it weren't for idiots
like the Sky brothers and the Sehoon and Sechuls, then
the ladder system would be a fun way to put your
skills to the test. But I guess until Blizzard fixes
this (I got some suggestions...) we will have to
settle for regular melee.
Newbies-
No matter for how long the game will be released,
there will always be newbies. I know that everyone was
a newbie once, but damn, are they annoying... I hate
having dud partners where all they do is build sunken
colonies and then get taken out with tanks or reavers.
Even if you tell them to do something, they won't
listen. Another thing that ties in with this are
people that just completely suck. I'm talking about
people that although they can build a pretty base,
they won't do shit for the team. Once you break
through the main defense of the enemy, they will bring
a marine or two. But other than that they won't do
anything. I remember one time me and a friend were
playing a 3v3, and we got stuck with some guy named
"simpsons". This guy was a joke. He had 4 zealots in
the front of his base in a circular formation, with
two dragoons behind him, and a scout on each side. Me
and my friend still laugh about that to this very
day...
Backstabbers-
I can understand why some people would like to
backstab their stupid newbie partners, but sometimes
people just backstab for the hell of it. I can
remember times where I built up a pretty strong force,
while my partner did nothing. I then attacked the
enemy with my all, and although I killed my enemy, I
lost most of my units. Well my dumbass partner still
does nothing, and then builds carriers and kills me
with them. Most of the time I can take out idiots who
pull stupid stunts like that, but other times I can't.
This is just some of the lamers on Bnet, and I will
be covering the others in later articles. I have not
heard of many abusers and/or idiots on Kali, so I have
reason to believe that it's because Bnet is free. I
might look a little deeper in the subject later, so
look for that later on. Next week, I will be reporting
on the 1.08 patch Alpha, and my experience with it. I
have some interesting experiences to share, so check
back next week.
CreepColony's Opinion: 1.08 just came out and B.net should be hack free so far. Also, I don't think newbies are lamers...we were all newbies at one time.
